Neuroscience at Storrs, November 2013
New Frontiers in Biomedical Engineering conference, Fall 2013
Dr. Krystyna Gielo-Perczak organized, for the third time, a New Frontiers in Biomedical Engineering conference for undergraduate students. The conference took place during her Introduction to Biomedical Engineering class, which has an enrollment of over 85 sophomores and juniors. Dr. Gielo-Perczak reports that she mentored the students to help them refine their projects, which culminated in formal presentation by 24 teams describing their concepts for new medical devices or methods. She also encouraged her student to participate in a Neuroscience in Storrs conference as means to initiate a multidisciplinary dialogue across the UConn campus.
‘New Frontiers in Biomedical Engineering conference, Fall 2012
Dr. Krystyna Gielo-Perczak organized, for the second time, a New Frontiers in Biomedical Engineering conference for undergraduate students (Nov 6, 8 & 13, 2012). The conference took place during her Introduction to Biomedical Engineering class, which has an enrollment of 97 sophomores and juniors. In total, 28 multidisciplinary student teams presented their concepts for new medical devices or methods. Dr. Gielo-Perczak mentored the students to help them refine their projects, which culminated in formal podium presentation and report. She also encouraged her students to participate in a Neuroscience at Storrs Conference where 7 teams of BME students presented their projects in Biological Prosthetics and Diagnoses of Neural Malformations section. Neuroscience at Storrs Conference 2012 was organized by Professors Heather Read and Monty Escabi, as means to initiate a multidisciplinary dialogue across the UConn campus.
